50TH ANNUAL BLUEBONNET FESTIVAL

This weekend marks the 50th anniversary of Chappell Hill’s Bluebonnet Festival.

This is the official festival celebrating the  Lone Star State’s official flower and organizer Joel Romo says this will be the best ever.

The Chappell Hill Historical Society has sponsored the Bluebonnet Festival since its inception in 1964.

In addition to the hundreds of arts and crafts vendors, children’s activities, musical entertainment, and all the food booths, the Historical Society has invested in restoring buildings and preserving the history of Chappell Hill. They also have a limited number of 50th anniversary posters of the Bluebonnet Festival at the Rock Store.

The Texas Legislature designated the Bluebonnet Festival as the Official Bluebonnet Festival of Texas thanks to the hours of work from the festival and historical society volunteers.

Romo wants everyone to know that the Bluebonnets are particularly beautiful and plentiful this year and he hopes everyone will take time to take photos of the fields of flowers.  He also says they have plenty of parking for this year’s Festival.
