ARABELLA MAITLAND WINS DRAG RACING CHAMPIONSHIP

Brenham is not only the home of baseball and football champions, we now have Drag Racing Champion also.  Brenham native Arabella Maitland took the top spot in the 11 year old age group this past weekend at the NHRA Junior Drag Racing League Eastern Conference Championship in Bristol Tennessee.

There were 650 competitors at the event and Arabella worked her way past 55 of them in her class to take the top spot.  Her older sister Brianna was competing against 117 others in the 16 and 17 year old class and made it to the quarter final round before losing out.

Arabella Maitland is a distinguished honor student and will be entering 6th grade at Brenham Middle School.  Brianna Maitland is a distinguished honor student and will be entering her senior year at Brenham High School.  Their parents are Jeff and Marla Maitland of Brenham.
