ASTRODOME FUTURE STILL UNCERTAIN

What will become of the Houston Astrodome is still up in the air after a meeting of the Texas Historical Commission Wednesday.

In a meeting at Sul Ross University in Alpine, the Texas Historical Commission Wednesday decided to delay their decision indefinitely on whether to make the Astrodome a protected state landmark.  Commission Chairman Matthew Kreisle said the decision gives Harris County more time to make a deal with private investors, while also protecting the stadium.  Kreisle said he wants to see Houston and Harris County officials make a concerted effort to redevelop the Astrodome through a deal with a private party.
