BLINN BOARD SETS STRATEGIES

The Blinn Board of Trustees approved the new priorities at their special meeting on the Bryan Campus Tuesday night.  These priorities are to aid the administrators in decision-making and ensuring a streamlined vision for the college’s future.

The Board of Trustees identified student success, human capital, and community enhancement as its strategic priorities after performing an analysis called ‘SWOT’, which stands for  ‘strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.’  Administrators, faculty, staff, students and community members participated in developing the College’s strategic priorities, goals and objectives.

Each college department will next identify the specific tasks they must perform to help the College achieve its objectives.  These tasks and other elements of the strategic plan will be used in the budget process to link expenditures to strategic priorities.

Blinn College President Dr. Harold Nolte says these priorities ‘clearly communicate’ a vision for the future that benefits not only the employees, but also defines the values of the communities that Blinn College serves.
