BLINN COLLEGE VETERINARIAN TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM GIVES STUDENT OPTIONS

Students in the Blinn College competitive Veterinary Technology Program have the option to secure hard to find internships and full time employment positions upon graduating because of the rigor of the coursework and the hands on experience the program provides its students.

Program Director David Sessum said he receives internship opportunities throughout the year and many of the students pursue opportunities on their own.

Sessum says the level of education at Blinn’s Vet Tech program is unparalleled.  He says they participate right alongside veterinary medicine students at Texas A&M and use state of the art equipment that cannot be found in other facilties.

Veterinary Technology is one of the fastest growing professions in the nation, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.  Veterinary Technicians  assist in diagnosis and surgery, sample selections, and sample submissions, client communications and research.  They provide support to veterinarians in much the same way nurses assist doctors.
