BLINN HODDE TECHNICAL CENTER GRADUATES 35

  

The past few weeks have been graduation season in college’s and high schools in our area and that includes Blinn College Hodde Technical Education Center in the Brenham Industrial Park.

Thirty-five Blinn College students are now on their way to new careers after graduating with certificates from the Technical Center.

Eleven of the students received the Certificates of Nurse Aid and are now qualified for licenses from the Texas Department of Aging and Health.

Seven students have earned their  Phlebotomy Technician certificates.  The new graduates are now qualified to collect blood  with vacuum devices, syringes, capillary skin punctures and butterfly needles on adults children and infants.

Sixteen were awarded their medical office technician certification.  These students learned the skills to a medical office environment, including using key medical terms, updating and filing patient’s medical records, including key medical terms, updating and filing patient’s medical records, arranging for hospital admissions and laboratory services and assisting with billing and bookkeeping.

All three programs were offered through the Hodde Center, a 12,000 square foot facility built five years ago to provide local training for a quality, viable workforce in Washington and surrounding counties. Its staff works in cooperation with local businesses to provide a well trained workforce that strengthens the local community.
