BLINN NAMES NEW POLICE CHIEF
Blinn College has a new police chief in Craig Weisepape. Wiesepape had been the interim police chief since December when Charles Miller resigned from the position.
Wiesepape will take over his new duties on June first.
He is not new to the college’s police department. He joined the department nine years ago. His father, James Wiesepape headed the Blinn College Police Department from 1968 to 1994.
Wiesepape began his career in law enforcement in 1988 as a reserve officer for the Navasota police department. He became a full time officer in 1990 and quickly climbed through the ranks to sergeant in 1996 in 1998.
During his tenure with the Navasota police department, Wiesepape was honored with six letters of commendation from various state and municipal law enforcement agencies. He was awarded officer of the year in 1993.
Wiesepape joined the Blinn College police department in September of 2005 as an investigator, earning the designation of Master Peace Officer from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education.
Dr. Dennis Crowso, Blinn College’s Vice President of Student Services said Wiesepape has been a ‘steadying presence on the Blinn Campus.’
Congratulations to Chief Wiesepape! He has great patience and fairness which he will have to draw on when dealing with the criminal element that attends the Brenham Blinn Campus.
