BLINN POSTPONES ALL ATHLETIC EVENTS

Men’s basketball, baseball and softball affected by snow, ice

The Blinn College basketball, baseball and softball teams have all postponed games due to inclement weather.

The men’s basketball team’s Region XIV Conference Tournament opener has been postponed a day, due to the closure of the University of Texas – Tyler campus.

The eighth-seeded Buccaneers will face the ninth-seeded Tyler Apaches at 1 p.m. Thursday at Tyler Junior College. Their opener was originally scheduled for 1 p.m. today at UT-Tyler. All men’s games slated for today will be played at Tyler Junior College tomorrow. They’ll return to the UT-Tyler campus on Thursday when the men’s tournament resumes.

The women’s tournament is scheduled to start tomorrow at 1 p.m., with the third-seeded Blinn women’s team slated to tip off against No. 6 seed Angelina at 8 p.m. Both men and women’s games will be broadcast online at www.tsrnsports.com. The Buccaneer baseball team rescheduled its game against Angelina today for March 17 at 4 p.m. in Angelina. Blinn plays a four-game series against Laredo at Leroy Dreyer Field at 4 p.m. doubleheader Friday and a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday.

The softball team’s doubleheader against Coastal Bend Wednesday will be rescheduled to a later date. The Buccaneers host Alvin Community College Friday for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
