BLINN STEEL DRUM CONCERT
Blinn College music students will create island themed music with 55 gallon drums Sunday afternoon at the O’Donnell Performing Arts Center.
Texas A&M’s Maroon Steel, under the direction of Dr. Ian Rollins and Blinn’s BC Steel, under the direction of Dr. Sarah Burke will collaborate for the five pm, free concert on the Brenham campus.
The performance marks BC Steel’s first performance as a unique entity following numerous performances as part of Blinn’s Percussion Ensemble. The concert will feature medley of traditional folk Caribbean music, as well as, an alternative take on jazz using 55 gallon oil drums call pans.
BC Steel meets during the spring semester and is open to music students through audition.
