BLUEBONNET SELLS WASHINGTON COUNTY WATER SYSTEM

More than 1100 farms and ranches in northeast Washington County will soon begin receiving water services from Corix Industries, a water utility  operator that already  has a significant presence in Central Texas.  Ed

Corix and Bluebonnet Rural Water  Corporation, a subsidiary  of Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative, have entered into an agreement to sell the assets of the northeast Washington County water system.  BRWAC’s board of directors authorized the sale in its March meeting.

Matt Bentke, the Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative’s deputy general manager, says this is a very positive development for everyone.   Since 2007,, BRWC has made significant improvements to the rural water system and provided safe reliable water service.

In Texas, Corix currently provides operations, maintenance and customer services for 18 years and it is acquiring waste water systems from the Lower Colorado River Authority.  .
