BOIL WATER NOTICE

A severe water leak and water outage means a boil water notice has been issued for a large portion of Washington County until further notice.

The Bluebonnet Rural Water Corporation/Northeast Washington County   Water System announced late last (Tuesday) night that they  began experiencing the water outage associated with water well 4, mostly in the area of Highway 105 and Allen Road; between Weisepape Road and FM 50, Country Club Road, Allen Road, Rau Road, Antique Road, Highway 105 and Old Navasota Road.

This notification will remain in effect until further notice.  Michael Conway, the general manager of the Water Corporation announced that they are in the process of isolating the water leak and will provide further updates through future announcements.  The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requires the system to notify all customers of any water outage and after that water outage to boil their water prior to consumption until notified the water is safe for consumption. To ensure the destruction of harmful bacterial organisms and other microbes, water for drinking should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.  You can also buy bottled water.
