BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL TAKING UP ROBERTS’ CONTRACT

It’s time for the Brenham City Council to evaluate and possibly renew City Manager Terry Robert’s contract.

The city council will go into executive session during Thursday’s meeting to take up the city manager’s contract, something they do once a year.  The council will come out of that session to make a decision on any changes or extensions on Robert’s contract.

Roberts became Brenham’s city manager in the year 2000 following the death of C.J Webster.

The council will also consider renaming  a portion of Stringer Street South Chappell Hill Street.  Chappell Hill Street is being extended to connect to Stringer Street, which will then extend to highway 290.  City Engineer Grant Lischka told the city council at their last meeting he hopes to have this project finished in August of next year.

The City Council is also expected to act on health insurance funding rate and update service credit and have an increase in retirement annuities in the Texas Municipal Retirement System.

The Brenham City Council meets Thursday at one at city hall.
