BRENHAM CLEANUP CONTINUES THIS WEEKEND

The Annual Spring Open Collection Days continues this weekend as the City of Brenham Collection Station, in the 2000 block of Old Chappell Hill Roads, opens up for city residents to bring in just about any type of trash and garbage.

City Public Works Director Dane Rau says they will have an open collection, through today (Saturday), so city residents can bring in just about anything they don’t want around their house anymore.  Rau says that also means old tires, thanks to a grant the county received.

The Brazos Valley Council of Governments is offering a free scrap tire collection event at the same time of the spring cleanup.

Citizens can bring yard waste, construction debris, scrap metal, automotive batteries, furniture, compactable trash and appliances.  Appliances with coolant will be assessed $20 for the removal of coolant if it is not certified prior to the drop off.

The Brenham Collection Station will be open again next week, from April 10th through the 12th for Washington Co. residents.

After dropping off their trash, residents can pick up a load of municipal mulch for their spring garden.
