BRENHAM FIREFIGHTERS EVACUATE HOTEL

  

Brenham firefighters had to evacuate the Comfort Suites Hotel in the 2300 block of South Day in the pre-dawn hours today (Saturday) as smoke billowed  out from the second floor.

Firefighters were called to the scene at about 4:30am, with several units finding the heavy smoke.  The manager of the hotel said all of the people staying there were able to get out safely but the firefighters searched to make sure. The scene was cleared at 5:10am.

The cause of the heavy smoke, and possible fire is under investigation.
