  1. It’s funny how everyone wants to be tough on crime until the suspect looks like this… This man walked into innocent people’s home and brandished a gun! We have law enforcement for a reason, let them do their jobs. Crime is crime and a criminal is a criminal. We can’t throw the book at some and give others a pass because they remind you of paw paw. Just for argument sake what if he gets a hunch that his belongings are at YOUR house next time and points a gun at you and your kids… Will he still be a misunderstood fine upstanding citizen?

  2. The noon news was given by a young lady, some of her delivery was somewhat broken up , she is new, and will get better with time, So those of you that want to be hard on her, just back off and wait, it’s not easy and she will be just fine.

  3. As we all age we face the possibility that our brains will fail us in one way or another. We have lapses in judgement in many circumstances. Dementia, senility, etc. it is not an excuse but a reason for the elderly that have been law abiding citizens their entire lives to make bad decisions. It is not our jobs as human beings to judge or condemn, but to understand and forgive. These crimes by seniors should not go unpunished, but each one deserves the consideration of the mental health of the individual in meting out the punishment. This should apply to ALL seniors in the circumstances of the past two weeks in Brenham.

  4. Who cares his age or his problem. That is why we have law enforcement to handle things. We will not allow any race age or gender get away with this type of behavior.

    1. City Cops not doing their job, but coming down hard on this old man for getting mad when they rob from him in broad daylight. Put me on the jury, you’ll never get him convicted. Turn him loose and go arrest the scum that did the robbing!

  5. He was robbed in the middle of the day while he was at a Dr.’s appt! Residents are fed up with these thugs in this town robbing them blind! Don’t discredit this man that worked hard all of his life for HIS possessions! There is a reason why he went to this address and took matters into his own hands! The citizens of Brenham & County need to have a neighborhood watch and call in all suspicious vehicles & persons! Crack down on these thugs & protect OUR community!

  6. He was upset because he had items stolen from him & he went to retrieve his items. Yes, he did take a gun to let them know he meant business. He didn’t want to be victimized any more!!!!!

  7. Burglary of a habitation with intent to commit other felony?? Really? An 83 year old man going to rob someone while they’re home…
He’s probably just fed up with all the bugleries, robberies, break-ins, any all the other criminal activities that have been happening in Brenham the last couple of years! Every day on KWHI I see stories about drugs, theft, break-ins, etc. etc. The small town of Brenham is turning into Houston really fast!
