BRENHAM PD INVESTIGATES NEARBY BURGLARIES

  

Brenham Police are investigating a pair of home burglaries that occurred within two blocks of each other on the same day.

Monday at noon, Officer Jonathan Phipps responded to a call in the 700 block of E. Stone.

The caller said when he got to his residence he noticed the side door was open. The caller said Monday was the last day he would be residing at that address and so there was nothing in the house to take. Phipps said the door had been splintered near the dead bolt area. The caller said the garage still had items in it, but nothing was taken from the garage.

Less than a half-hour later, Cpl. David Dudenhoeffer responded to the 900 block of E. Stone in reference to a burglary.

He met with the caller who said he had arrived home from work at approximately 12 p.m. and noticed the glass to the back door was broken.

As he entered the residence, he noted that things had been gone through but didn’t believe anything had been taken.
