BRENHAM POLICE ARREST MAN ON ASSAULT CHARGE
A 44-year old New Caney man faces assault charges after his arrest.

Brenham Police Cpl. Lance Weiss was called out to the 200 block of South Drumm shortly before midnight Monday, in reference to an assault.
The caller stated her roommate had assaulted her and locked her out of the room.
Weiss met with the caller who said the suspect, 44-year old Jeffrey Letts, had been drinking and smoking marijuana and became angry and violent.
She said she grabbed her phone and purse and told Letts that if he didn’t stop she was going to call the police.
The woman says Letts then grabbed her phone and smashed, threw his drugs into a dumpster, and then assaulted her.
Letts is charged with Class C Assault Family Violence and Criminal Mischief.
