BRENHAM POLICE INVESTIGATE FIREARM THEFT

Brenham police are investigating the theft of a rifle Monday evening.  At 10:20pm Monday, the police were dispatched to the 700 block of East Germania Street where neighbors saw 4 individuals jumping over a fence.  One of the individuals was holding a bag.  The individuals ran when they were spotted, with the one holding the bag running towards Pecan Tree apartments. Two 17 year old males were found hiding in a garage on East Germania Street and were questioned.  They claimed they were only knocking on doors and running away.   At this point, a neighbor reported to the officers that a 30.06 rifle was missing from his garage.  The officers found the rifle hidden outside of Pecan Tree apartments.  No arrests have been made and the incident remains under investigation.

  1. Hmmm…. Let’s see… four individuals were also apprehended in Sealy overnight Monday after apparently stealing cigarettes from Rattlers. And cigarettes were also stolen from Crossroads after it was broken into overnight Monday. And an eyewitness saw someone fleeing from Crossroads with a bag.

Sounds to me like the same guys going on a little spree through town. But if the names of the guys from Sealy match up to the names of the kids found in the garage, then the police may have tied up all three cases. Sounds like these morons might’ve gotten lucky with a warning and didn’t wise up.
