BRENHAM POLICE INVESTIGATING BURGLARIES
Brenham Police are investigating a pair of burglaries, reported Tuesday morning.
Just before 7:00, Corporal Steven Eilert was dispatched to the 1800 block of South Market St. to the burglary of a building.
The caller said that sometime during the night his business was burglarized. A window in the back of the building was broken out and appeared to have been where the suspects entered.
The caller said a safe had been broken into and cash taken from it and desks in the building.
A total of approximately $2,000 was taken.
That business is just four blocks from where a suspect fled from a business when he was surprised by the owner at around 4:00 a.m.
Then , Officer Jared Campbell was called to the 1600 block of S. Baylor in reference to another burglary of a building.
The caller said someone had broken into her vehicle through the rear driver’s side window some time during the night.
A small safe that had been in the backseat was missing but nothing was inside the safe.
She said nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle.
