BRENHAM WOMAN GETS 7-YEAR SENTENCE
A Brenham woman has been sentenced to jail-time on three different charges.
37-year old Lakeshia Kennedy was convicted of three felony charges: Tampering with Physical Evidence, Fraud of Identifying Information, and Credit Card Abuse.
District Judge Carson Campbell sentenced Kennedy to seven years in prison on the Tampering With Physical Evidence charge; and 18 months each on the Fraud and Credit Card Abuse charges.
A 33-year old Somerville man was sentenced on three charges involving a copper theft case. Mikel Sowders was sentenced to 128 days in Washington County Jail on the Theft of Copper charge; 2-year in jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance; and five years probation for Tampering with Physical Evidence.
Sowders was also fined $2000 and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service.
Also in 21st Judicial District Court, 26-year old Dewayne Knight Nickalous of Chappell Hill was sentenced to eight years in prison. Nickalous was convicted on a charge of Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member.
21-year old Devonta Keith Gaines of Brenham was sentenced to eight years in prison on a charge of Felony Robbery.
Also sentenced this week were:
31-year old Shauneka Lavannah Gage of Brenham sentenced to 265 days in Washington County Jail on two separate charges of Credit Card Abuse.
43-year old Stephen James Bentke of Somerville was placed on six years probation for felony Theft of $20,000-to-100,000.
20-year old Michelle Sanchez of Brenham was placed on two years probation for Criminal Mischief $1500-to-$20,000. She also must perform 120 hours community service and attend an anger management class.
45-year old Michelle Fredrickson of Brenham was placed on four years probation and firmed $1500 for Possession of a Controlled Substance. She must also perform 120 hours of community service.
