A portion of Old Chappell Hill Road will be closed for the next month while a new bridge is constructed.  According to Don Werth, Washington County Road and Bridge Administrator, the bridge is being replaced by Nealand Construction, a contractor for the county.

The steel grate bridge has already been removed and a crew is now driving steel pilings for the new concrete deck bridge.  The work is expected to only take about 10 days, but the rest of the time is needed to allow the concrete to cure.

The bridge is located between Old Navasota Road and Walker League Lane near Woodward Creek.  Mustang Road remains open as an alternate route.
