BRYAN FRACAS COULD LEAD TO ARRESTS

A large group of young people from Bryan could face multiple charges after a scene of mass mayhem Saturday night at a Bryan convenience store.

The store clerk at the Chevron Food Mart at William J. Bryan and Highway 21 says the kids swarmed the store between 11:00-and-midnight Saturday, vandalizing and stealing a number of things.

Security cameras from the Chevron Gas station at Sandy Point Road and U.S. Highway 21 in Bryan show 30 to 40 teens swarming the parking lot.

Store Clerk Terry Polsgrove says that around 11:15, more and more young people were gathering in the store.

Polsgrove says that before he knew it, he and his co-worker were being ambushed.

He says he saw a young lady yelling, 'Hey, come on in and get it! They're giving away free stuff!'

In all there were more than five separate security cameras from inside the store watching their every move. Each camera shows the teens stealing candy, food, drinks and as Polsgrove described it, anything they could get their hands on.

Police say the suspects could be charged with vandalism, theft, organized crime and even assault. We're told several parents have come forward to police with statements. While no charges have been filed yet, police say they're going to investigate the crime to the fullest.
