BURTON SCHOOL BOARD ELECTS NEW OFFICERS

The Burton School Board elected its officers at Monday’s meeting.

Marcus Broesche was elected president, Misty Lucherk was elected secretary and  Terri Smith was elected vice-president.

Supt. Jim Palmer reported the board took no action of QZAB funding.  The district had applied for these low interest bonds for school improvement.  He said the board will be developing a list of projects they need to improve should they get the funding.

Palmer said the Board made a counter offer for the sale of the old elementary school property.  No further details were available.  The old elementary school  has been out of service for about five years, after Burton School district voters approved a $7 million bond issue to build a new school, and make other critical improvements to the district.
