BURTON SCHOOL BOARD TO DEAL WITH OLD A/C AND LIGHTING

Burton School Supt. Jim Palmer says that many of the light fixtures and old central air and heating units at the old rock high school are so out of date they cannot get replacement parts for them.

That’s the subject of a workshop for the Burton School Board before they hold their regular meeting at six pm, Monday.

Palmer says the board will hold a workshop on proposals from Way Engineering on how to dispense with the old equipment and replace them without costing the taxpayers additional money.

The Burton School Board will look for ways to deal with old A/C and lighting units.

Palmer says Way Engineering had alternatives for the old lighting, AC units and the outside lighting and the gym, as well.

The Board will go into regular session at 6:30pm.  They will take up some routine items, including a read on the policy updates, consider the district improvement plans,  and consider facility planning.

This is also the time of year to take up resignations and new hirings.  The Board is expected to review the resignation of Karen Steenken and consider hiring a high school prinicipal.

The Burton School Board meets Monday at six pm for the workshop then goes into regular session at 6:30pm.  They will meet at the School District Administrative Offices at 701 North Railroad Street in Burton.
