CELEBRITY GOLF TOURNEY SET FOR JUNE 14TH
Faith Mission of Brenham is hosting a charity celebrity golf tournament, featuring a number of well-known athletes and local celebrities, all to raise funds for underprivileged children.
The 1st Annual Mission Brenham Celebrity Golf Tournament is slated for Saturday, June 14, at the Brenham Country Club.
The tournament will feature over 20 various sports legends and celebrities including Sweet Lou Dunbar of the Harlem Globetrotters, Robert Reid of the Houston Rockets, Lemuel Stinson of the Chicago Bears, as well as former Texas Christian University golf standout and current Texas Representative Lois Kolkhorst.
The 18-hole tournament will include a three-player scramble, in which each team will be assigned a celebrity as their forth team member. The registration fee of $100 includes the greens fee for 18 holes of golf on the beautiful Brenham Country Club course, a cart and dinner. Prizes include 1st, 2nd, 3rd place team, closest to pin, longest drive, and hole-in-one. In addition, a silent auction featuring memorabilia from the participating celebrities will be available throughout the tournament.
“Over the past six years Mission Brenham has successfully hosted a putt-putt golf tournament for our kids,” said Reverend Michael Haywood, executive director of Mission Brenham. “However, in order for us to serve more kids and families, we have to do something more to raise both money and awareness of what we are doing in Brenham and Washington County.”
Tournament play will begin play at 1 p.m., dinner will be provided immediately following play, and mulligans along with tiger drives will be available for purchase.
All proceeds of this tournament will benefit Mission Brenham, a Christ-centered community development organization focused on low income families, dedicated to educate, mentor and empower the next generation of leaders.
