CONGRESSMAN MCCAUL CRITICAL OF IRAN AGREEMENT

District 10 U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul,  Chair of the House Committee on Homeland Security, released a statement Sunday about the deal with Iran on nuclear development that was reached over the weekend.

The local congressional representative said the ‘United States must have verification that Iran is dismantling its nuclear program before any sanctions are lifted.  A dual track approach is required: tough sanctions remain in place while at the same time negotiations continue.’ Congressman McCaul continued to say that it was because of tough sanctions that Iran has come to the negotiating table and he expects the Senate to continue to move forward with its recent commitment to this strategy.

Congressman McCaul is critical of the agreement saying it ‘is not in the best interest of the United States and our allies.’  He says it freezes parts of Iran’s enrichment capabilities, and it relies on a still to be defined system of international inspections.  McCaul says Iran is a state sponsor of terrorism and cannot be trusted.

Congressman McCaul has been a constant critic of Iran and its activities during his time in Congress.

  1. This isn’t a “glass is half full/empty” situation. This is an example of the President and the Congress relieving themselves in our water and expecting us to keep drinking it. If you aren’t sick enough of their actions to want to vote them out, then you aren’t paying attention.

The deal that McCaul spoke of was a historically bad deal, especially for Israel. Iran has said on numerous occasions that they want to destroy Israel. Allowing the Iranians to have nuclear capability will push the Israelis to strike first. Unless that is what Obama wants, this is a terrible deal.

  2. I won’t say that our Congressmen are right about everything. I am with the majority when I see that Congress has a 9% approval rating.

But what do you want them to praise? Obama and Pelosi ripping health care policies away from millions of Americans after they’ve promised that “If you like your plan, you can keep it”? Do you want them to give approval to wiretapping our German allies? Do you expect them to be excited that the president wants to keep spending money on programs that aren’t working when we are already $18,000,000,000,000 in debt?

  3. I am “sick-to-death” of McCaul’s negative statements on anything that our current President accomplishes. When our Legislators in Texas are against EVERYTHING, their opinions and comments become worthless.
