Discussions by the County Commissioners may be easier to hear at future meetings thanks to a donation by county resident Bill Neinast.  At this morning’s meeting, commissioners accepted a donation from Neinast to purchase a public address system for the commissioner’s court room.  The system would not only have microphones for the County Judge and Commissioners, but also for the public and those making comments to the court.  It was noted that it’s often difficult to hear those addressing the court because they are facing away from those in attendance.

In other action, the commissioner s also approved the Archival Plans for District Clerk Tammy Brauner and County Clerk Beth Rothermel.  Both noted that the plans work to preserve old records dating back to the 1800’s.  The historical records not only include documents filed with the county, but also some documents for the rural schools that once existed in parts of the county.  The plans seek to preserve the original documents and also record and index them electronically.  The cost of preserving the old documents is paid for with the filing fees for current documents.

  1. Why is it the County does not try to improve things on their own? They only do something if it given to them or by grants. Why can’t this group of Commissioners think ahead and try to make things better before hand? They have no vision they only react to what is happening. They always fuss about the City spending money but look how much further ahead the City is than the County in technogly. The County is still trying to spell IT, if they only would move into the new age and start using some of the computer technogly that is available how much money could they be saving the tax payers because they would be more efficient.
