COUNTY COMMISSIONERS GET GOOD DEAL ON ROAD EQUIPMENT

The Washington County Commissioners agreed at today’s (Tuesday’s) meeting, to finance for some road construction equipment at what County Judge John Brieden called a ‘very good rate.’

Brieden had assigned County Engineer Don Werth to seek out bids and financing possibilities for a loader and smooth wheel roller for the road and bridge department.  Werth says the items are critical to road repair and construction and he found some good prices and good financing.

The financing rate for the two items was 1.69 percent, with the cost being $180,000 for the loader and $120,000 for the smooth wheel roller.

The Washington County Commissioners also made appointments and reappointments to the Homeland Security  Committee.  Brenham Emergency Coordinator Ricky Boeker and County Emergency Coordinator Robert Smith remain on the Committee.  EMS Director Kevin Deramus will also stay on the Committee along with Chief Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy Jay Petrash.  Dr. William Loesch and Ronnie Stanley were also reappointed to the Committee along with Gary Waits, Bryan Reumke.  Precinct Three County Commissioner Kirk Hanath was also reappointed to the Committee. The new member of the Committee is Lt. Dant Lange of the Brenham Police Department.
