COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO DO FINAL WORK ON SEWER GRANTS

.

The Washington County Commissioners are expected to  designate the county auditor  sign their name, Tuesday,  to documents that should get funds from the Texas Department of Agriculture so some residents in the rural parts of the county can connect to sewer lines.

The County Commissioners have already worked out an engineering contract with Jones and Carter and a management contract for the project.  The lines would connect the Alois Lane area.  That area cannot accept anymore septic sewage.  Washington County Judge John Brieden says a new requirement has come up for them to meet.

.

This is for a $277,000 block grant from the Texas Department of Agriculture.

At Tuesday’s meeting, the Commissioners are expected to approve a resolution authorizing contractual documents requesting those funds.

The County Commissioners are also expected to grant funds to Justice of the Peace Roy May so he can purchase a new server. The money will from the Justices of the Peace technology fund.

Judge Brieden says more work needs to be done on the gazebo at the courthouse.  Some minor repairs took place a few years ago but now more involved and more expensive repairs are needed and the county commissioners need to take action.

The Washington County Commissioners will meet Tuesday morning at nine at the courthouse,.
