Washington County is getting set to host the 42nd Annual South Central Texas Cow-Calf Clinic and Trade Show tomorrow, (Friday)  at the County Fairgrounds.

The annual clinic is at the Fairgrounds Sales Facility in Brenham.

Larry Pierce, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agent  invited all area producers to attend to receive information to help them make sound management decisions in their beef cattle operations.  He says there is something for everyone who is interested producing beef.

Dr. Jason Cleere, an expert on the management of beef cattle will moderate the morning session.  Dr. Ron Gill will speak on cattle conditions. Dr. David Anderson and Bryan Cummins will have a presentation on calf marketing.  Dr. Mark Matocha will have a presentation on independent pest management and Larry Redman will have a presentation on land stewardship.  Austin County’s Agri-Life Extension Agent Phillip Shackleford will be the moderator for the afternoon session.

Pierce says this list of impressive speakers has been selected based on the recommendations of the area beef and forage committee members from Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Fayette, Grimes, Harris, Lee, Waller and Washington counties. Participants will receive two continuing education units for pest management.
