CUBETTE SOFTBALL PICKS UP ROAD WIN

The Brenham Cubettes softball team turned in perhaps their most complete performance of the season, beating Rudder Tuesday night, 6-1 in Bryan.

The Cubettes (11-13/4-9) pounded out 14 hits and committed only one error as they ended a four-game losing skid.

Colleen Bentke, making her first start since breaking her thumb in February, ripped three hits including a double and triple, while scoring three runs.

Ashley Hodde also had three hits, while Kelly Jurden, Macie Becker and Annie Cangelosi each added two hits.  Cangelosi drove in a pair of runs.

Becker went the distance in the circle, giving up just one run on three hits and striking out four.

The Cubettes will be back at home Friday night when they host Magnolia at 7:00 at Alumni Field.

In other 18/4A games, Tuesday;  Magnolia 5   Waller 4;  Montgomery 7   Willis 0;  Magnolia West 6   Huntsville 3.  Caney Creek had a bye, Tuesday night.
