CUBETTES EARN SHARE OF 18/4A CHAMPIONSHIP

The Brenham Cubette basketball team claimed a share of the District 18/4A Championship Tuesday night, with a 79-39 win at Caney Creek.

The Cubettes (27-3) were led by Angel Darcus with 26 points, while freshman Alicia Jackson added 19.  Junior post Teaira McCowan scored 15 points, while pulling down 18 rebounds and blocking seven shots.

The win gives the Cubettes a 15-1 district record; tied with Montgomery—the only district team to defeat the Cubettes this year.

No word has been given on how the two teams will break the tie for playoff seeding purposes.

Both teams will be recognized as Co-District Champs.
