DRUG SENTENCES IN 21ST DISTRICT COURT

  

District Court Judge Reva Towslee-Corbett sentenced a 21-year old Burton woman to three years deferred adjudication after she pled guilty to charges of possession of controlled substances in this week’s session of the 21st district court.

Samantha Lea Gandy seemed to a Brenham police officer  ‘a little too nervous’ during a traffic stop on February 16th of last year.  Officer Seth Klem observed her to have two pills of Xanax in her hand.  A further search of her car found some more, but unspecified narcotics.

Judge Corbett sentenced Gandy to three years deferred adjudication but also ordered her to pay a $1500 fine, $140 in restitution, the cost of testing the drugs, and ordered her to undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment.  She must also perform 140 hours of community service.

Fifty-one year old Felix Rodriguez of Dale, Texas was sentenced to two years deferred adjudication probation after he pled guilty to charges of possessing controlled substances.

Rodriguez was arrested on May 2nd2013  when Brenham police stopped him for driving while his license was invalid.  While the officers were doing an inventory they found drug paraphernalia and a small amount of methamphetamines. 

Judge Corbett sentenced him to the probation but also ordered him to pay a $1000 fine, ordered him to pay  a $50 crime stoppers fee, undergo drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment, and perform 120 hours of community service.

Forty-year old Jacqueline Renee Bell Rogers was sentenced to 10 years probation for the delivery of controlled substances on August 20th 2013.   She was found delivering cocaine in 2011.   Judge Corbett amended the conditions of her probation in this week’s court session so she must successfully complete a substance abuse felony patient program.
