UPCOMING ADVANCED ACADEMICS EXPO AT KRAUSE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Brenham ISD will soon be hosting an Advanced Academics Expo at Krause Elementary School.

The event, being held December 11th from 6 to 7:30 p.m., will feature students and staff representing the school district’s advanced learning programs, such as the CSI and Gateway programs, AVID, and Advanced Placement (AP) classes.

The expo will show some of the opportunities made possible for advanced learners in Brenham public schools.  Students in these programs participate in research based projects, which help them demonstrate their academic knowledge, skills, and leadership abilities.

Krause Elementary School is located at 2201 East Stone Street in Brenham. To learn more, visit www.brenhamisd.net, or call 979-277-3700.

  1. AP clases at elementary school level? Who for? The numerous children who have been placed on mind altering drugs to satisfy their competitive parents and teachers who prefer zombies in their classroom? So they can get into college faster and struggle to find jobs sooner? I understand the need at the high school level, but elementary? Pressure for grades, excelling in sports, social pressures for girl/ boyfriends, etc. Instead, how about adding required Health and Living Skill classes, required Civics and government classes?
