FAITH MISSION TO CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY

The community of Brenham and Washington County is about to celebrate a remarkable anniversary.

The Rev. Randy Wells of Faith Mission says, they have making ‘His Mission, our Mission’ for 29 years, feeding the hungry,  housing the homeless, and training those who need job skills.

Wells says Faith Mission is celebrating their anniversary next Thursday (February 6th) at the Cannery Kitchen and everyone is invited,,.

The doors open at 5:30 and the event begins at 6pm.  Wells says there is casual attire, and that all they are requesting is your presence.

Faith Mission began when Bob Barry, a middle aged reformed alcoholic attended a meeting of the Brenham Ministerial Alliance and outlined the need to form a mission.

The Mission began as a service to feed the hungry and house the homeless but soon they expanded to jobs training and even health services. They, along with Scott and White Hospital operate the Washington County Health and Service Center.  They also operate the Cannery Kitchen, which doubles as an eating establishment and a jobs training center for those looking to get into the food service industry.
