FATAL SHOOTING ON FM 50
A Washington County woman is dead after she was shot at a home north of Brenham.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the woman was shot in the back at a home in the 8700 block of FM 50.
The woman was transported in critical condition to Scott & White Hospital in Brenham, and was later pronounced dead.
Sheriff’s deputies confirm the suspect fled the home but was taken into custody a short time later.
The victim was identified as 36 year old Brenham resident Rachelle Nowak. The arested suspect is identified as 43 year old Brenham resident Anthony Wayne Burns.
