FIVE BLINN FACULTY MEMBERS HONORED

Five members of the Blinn College faculty have been honored with the National Institute For Staff and Organizational Development Excellence Award in recognition of their dedication to student success.

Music and Drama Professor Sarah Burke, Natural Sciences Instructor Frances Karels, Vocational Nursing Instructor Michelle Marburger, Legal Assistant Program Coordinator Robert Stanberry and English Professor Richard Williamson were honored at the annual three-day NISOD Conference in Austin.

The NISOD was formed in 1978 as a consortium of community and technical colleges that share a philosophical commitment to support excellence in teaching,  learning and leadership. NISOD member institutions received weekly professional development materials and are eligible  to nominate outstanding faculty, staff and administrators for the annual excellence awards program.

The Blinn recipients were nominated by the heads of their divisions based on their character and integrity, effectiveness as instructors, involvement in student organizations and activities, service to Blinn College and participation in professional organizations and professional development activities.
