FM 1155 REPAIRED

The culvert on FM 1155 that was damaged by rains two weeks ago has been repaired.

Bobby Colwell of the Byran office of the Texas Department of Transportation says the badly damaged roadway re-opened on Friday afternoon after some emergency repairs.  Colwell said the slope failure on FM 1155 caused by the same weather has also been fixed.

Colwell says the roadway was fixed quickly after some severe damage on September 29th.          The roadway was washed away by 12 to 14 inches of rain in an early morning drenching.  Colwell said there were five 36 inch pipes under the road that were crushed when the road sank.  He said the road had been dry for so long, the ground under the road was unsettled by the rain.
