FORMER REAGAN/BUSH ADVISOR TO SPEAK AT BLINN-BRYAN

A former adviser to Presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush will visit Blinn College’s Bryan campus as part of Black History Month.

Frederick D. McClure was a senior member of the White House staff under both presidents.

McClure has served as associate deputy U.S. attorney general, as well as chairman of the U.S. Naval Academy.  He also has served as legislative director to U.S. Sen. John Tower and was member of the National Civil Aviation Review Commission.

McClure graduated from Texas A&M , with a degree in agricultural economics.  He also served as the university's first black student body president. He served a six-year term on the A&M system's board of regents and also served as vice president of the Texas A&M University Association of Former Students.

McClure, currently chief executive officer of the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation, will speak at noon, Thursday in the Barbara L. Pearson Banquet Room.

The event is free and open to the public.
