A high-ranking official at Texas A&M will be the guest speaker at Tuesday;s meeting of the Brenham Rotary Club.

Card is a former White House Chief of Staff who served in senior government roles under three U.S. presidents.

Card served as chief of staff to President George W. Bush from January 2001 to April 2006.

Card served as deputy chief of staff and then as a Cabinet member for President George H.W. Bush as the 11th Secretary of Transportation from 1992-93.

He also directed President Bush’s transition office during the transition from the Bush administration to the Clinton administration. Prior to that he served as special assistant and later as deputy assistant to the president and director of intergovernmental affairs for President Ronald Reagan where he was liaison to governors, statewide elected officials, state legislators, mayors and other elected officials.

Card serves on the board of directors of Union Pacific Corp. and Lorillard Inc,;  on the Business Advisory Board of BrainStorm Cell Therapeutics;  as a senior counselor on the International Advisory Board at Fleishman-Hillard;  on the Global Advisory Board of Alexander Proudfoot;  on the Advisory Board of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce;  and is a co-founder of the Lonsdale Group.

Card was acting dean of the Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M from July 2011 through August 2013.
