FORTNIGHTLY BOOK SALE OPENS WEDNESDAY

It’s February and time for one of the oldest public libraries in the state of Texas to hold a book sale to keep the shelves stocked.

The Brenham Fortnightly Club has been stocking the shelves of the Nancy Carol Roberts Library, since they founded the institution in 1901.

This year’s book sale begins (today) Wednesday at 9am, at the Washington County Fairgrounds.  Book Sale President Jamie Mehrens says they are expecting their biggest book sale ever, and the sale has more than just books available. You may even find some classic 78 rpm records.

The Fortnightly Club Book Sale will have a $10 admission charge on the first day and will have a one dollar charge after that. Mehrens says this gives everyone a chance to get some great books, even after the book collectors come on the first day.
