HIGHWAYS SAFE DURING ICY COLD WEATHER

  

While there were numerous reports of traffic mishaps filled the airwaves throughout late Thursday and early Friday,  the local highways were relatively safe.

Both area offices of the Texas Department of Public Safety report no major or fatal accidents, in spite of some icy roads, and many ice-over windshields.  Driving conditions will continue to improve throughout the day.
