Banker and one time Brenham School Board member Val Kiecke says this is an opportunity to keep active in the community after he retires from the Wells Fargo Bank in a few months.  He says his banking experience helped him understand the community and its needs.  Kiecke says this background will help him rule on the law, even though he is not a lawyer.

Bill Kendall is a practicing attorney and has been the city of Brenham’s prosecutor for the past seven years. Before that he was a prosecutor in two other cities, including Jacinto City.  He says this will help him rule on the law and understand the needs of both the state and the defendants.

Robin Luedtke cites her studies in criminal justice at Blinn College , where she graduated suma cum laude, and her internship with Justice of the Peace McCune has qualified her for the Justice of the Peace position.  She notes that this court deals with truancy, which she says is critically important.

All three candidates say they are prepared for a possible runoff.

Early voting continues through Friday at the Courthouse Annex and Election Day is from 7am to 7pm with fifteen poling sites in the county.
