KOLKHORST MAKES STATE SENATE RUN OFFICIAL
It’s official…long-time District-13 State Representative Lois Kolkhorst has thrown her hat into the ring for State Senator.
Kolkhorst made her official announcement today (Tuesday) in front of the Washington County Courthouse.
Surrounded by her family, Kolkhorst said this election is about families and the future.
She said the decision to run is not one she made lightly…
Kolkhorst says she will fight to push back against the federal government, which she says continues to push down rules without Congressional approval.
Kolkhorst is running for the District-18 State Senate seat that is expected to become vacant if current office holder Glen Hager wins the race for State Comptroller, which he is expected to do.
Kolkhorst has served seven terms in the State Legislature, after she was first elected in 2000.
Richmond businessman Gary Gates has announced he will also seek the State Senate seat as well.
