LAST DAY TO VOTE EARLY

Early voting concludes today (Friday)  for the March 4th Texas primary.  Washington County Clerk Beth Rothermel reports that on Thursday 301 people cast ballots in the Republican primary in the county while 20 cast ballots for the Democratic primary.  So far, 1680 Republican ballots have been cast and 160 Democrats have voted during the early voting period.  That’s a total of 1895.

Rothermel says however, this is a relatively low voter turnout.

The only locally contested races are in the Republican primary.  Both parties have contested statewide  races, however.

Early voting continues through today ( Friday) from 8am to 5pm at the Washington County Courthouse annex.

Election day is Tuesday from 7am to 7pm.  Rothermel says they will have 15 polling sites open and to find where you need to vote, check your orange voter registration card.
