MORNING ROBBERY AT HEB

Brenham Police are searching for man who robbed a local supermarket this (Friday) morning.

Authorities say at 8:40 this morning a white/male walked up to the customer service counter at the Brenham HEB Store.

He reportedly handed the clerk a note demanding money then made what authorities say was a “verbal threat”.

The man then fled the store with an undetermined amount of money.

Witnesses say he fled the parking lot in what’s described as a dark-colored compact sedan.

Local authorities are continuing their investigation.

  1. Let’s first give some credit to that cashier who did the right thing in not causing a scene because it could have gotten worse if they would have refused. Money can be replaced. Secondly as we get bigger as a community we as citizens need to pay closer attention to our surroundings. Before we didn’t have peddlers at gas stations or in our grocery store parking lots, but it has become more prevalent. I am proud of the police department here and the job they do, as we see elsewhere not many other communities can say the same. … GOD BLESS

  2. Even if HEB has a panic button, it still takes time for the police to drive there. I’m sure they have cameras on all their money drawers though, so it shouldn’t be too hard to catch the culprit. I’m just thankful nobody was hurt.

  3. The Brenham Police Department agrees with your comment about cleaning up this town. We’ve been fortunate that our Part 1 crimes have decreased by 30 percent in the past few years but as we grow we intend to stay vigilant and we ask the community to help us. And as we grow, keeping our crime rate down is going to be inherently more difficult. So please don’t hesitate to call 911 or the Police Station if you see something suspicious. The old adage is true – better to be safe than sorry.

  4. What is Brenham coming to?!? We really need to clean up this town, Houston is getting way too close!
