NAVASOTA MAN CHARGED WITH KIDNAPPING

  

A Navasota man has been charged with kidnapping his ex-girlfriend.

Grimes County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 24-year old Michael Lee Kinsey, after the alleged victim’s mother alerted law enforcement that her 27-year-old daughter had been taken against her will.

The victim was reportedly pulled from a porch at her residence, just outside of Navasota, and thrown in the backseat of Kinsey’s vehicle.

The alleged kidnapping took place several days after Kinsey was accused of assaulting the victim, severing their relationship.

Kinsey is charged with kidnapping--a third-degree felony.

Kinsey was released on $5,000 bond.

The third-degree felony carries a possible penalty of two to 10 years in a state prison and/or a fine of up to $10,000.
