Grimes County District Attorney Tuck McLain says charges have been filed against Kelly Armstrong in the death of his wife Autumn, early Monday morning.

Armstrong turned himself in Wednesday afternoon at the Grimes County Jail.  His bond has been set at $150,000.

Navasota Police were called to the couple’s home on Judson Avenue just after 3:00, Monday morning.

Police found Autumn Armstrong dead on her bed, with a gun nearby. Officials say she bled to death after being shot once in the upper thigh. The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office officially ruled her death a homicide.

McLain says the charges were filed after Navasota Police interviewed witnesses and neighbors.

McLain said the couple had been going through a divorce. They had a teenage son, who was home at the time of the shooting, and a 20-year-old daughter in college.

McLain added that it did not appear that Kelly Armstrong provided any medical help to his dying wife before first responders arrived.
