OFF DUTY NAVASOTA OFFICER SHOOTS 17 YEAR OLD IN HARRIS COUNTY

  

An off duty Navasota police officer shot and killed a driver after he was allegedly pinned by a car at a Northwest Harris County Apartment complex Wednesday evening. t.

 Reports from law enforcement agencies, including Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell, say the deadly shooting incident happened near Highway 6 and West Point Road in the Cy-Fair area of Harris County, at about five pm..

Investigators say the officer walked up to the car to question two individuals he thought were engaged in a drug deal. The car suddenly moved forward and pinned him in between two cars. 

The officer reportedly pulled out his pistol and opened fire.  The car continued driving until slammed into a pickup truck.  The 17-year old driver was taken to a Houston area hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The Navasota police officer was not seriously injured.

The incident remains under investigation.
