OFF DUTY PRAIRIE VIEW OFFICER KILLS MAN IN HARRIS COUNTY

  

An off-duty Prairie View police officer fatally shot a man after he allegedly tried to run him over with a car in Harris County.  .

 

Reports from the Harris County Sheriff’s office say Prairie View police officer was working security at a Walgreens in Northwest Harris County at about 8:45pm Sunday night when a man known to write bad checks at the store came in. 

When the officer, who has not been identified, approached the suspect, he ran out of the store to a nearby car.   The reports say the officer then tried to taser, but the suspect kept fleeing.  The man then got into his vehicle and tried to drive into the officer.  The officer fired his duty weapon toward the suspect several times, striking him at least once. 

Paramedics pronounced the man at the scene and his identity has not been released.
